This week's readers' layout is a model railway layout from Derek Hawtin - 'Dibley Town'

Derek sent in some excellent photos of his OO gauge layout. Theres a video of Derek's layout on Model Railways Live TV. He writes:

"The layout is called “Dibley Town” as a result of our buying the Dapol Church for the first layout which reminded my son of the Church in the Vicar of Dibley TV show."

"I used to model in n gauge as a teenager (40 years ago!) and returned to the hobby in 2008. My son wanted a train set for his 13th birthday but unfortunately/fortunately lost interest after a few months. I say fortunately as it gave me a great excuse to get going again. The shots are of my second layout which now lives in a shed in the garden."

"The Dibley Town is is not based on a particular place but is modelled to represent a town somewhere on the old LMS network. The period was originally era 4 but is moving to era 5 as I am expanding the locomotive stock into early diesels. Structures are a mixture of Skaledale, Scenecraft, Metcalfe and scratch built using Scalescenes papers. Building the layout gave me a great deal of pleasure and continues to do so when I am allowed to play in the shed!"

Many thanks to Derek for sending in his words and photos.
