This week's readers' layout is a OO gauge model railway layout from Ian Thompson - 'Blackford and Hinton'

Ian sent in some great photos of his OO gauge layout. He writes:

"The layout is about 20ft by 8ft and occupies part of a double garage. Operation is from the outside of the continuous double-track oval such that the operator can enjoy the sight of trains running through the fully modelled section. The other half of the oval is a 12-road fiddle yard."

"The justification for running a mix of ex-LMS, LNER and GW classes is that the location is loosely imagined to be somewhere in the region of Woodford Halse (Woodford & Hinton was the station). Structures are a mix of kits and scratch-built. Signals are non-operational Ratio kits but I’ve tried to locate them as accurately as possible."

"Excellent slow running is achieved via an ECM Compspeed controller for the down line and a Gaugemaster with brake simulator for the up line. Both are supported by Relco units. Points are all operated by point motors, mainly Peco but with a few old H&M, using a capacitor discharge unit."
